CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER - STREAMING SERVICES

Job Description:

MainStreaming is in a scaling phase; we are going to expands internationally and our Delivery Team is looking for new talents to join us. In order to improve everyday our platform and meet customers requirements we are looking for a Streaming Media Support Engineer to join our team.
This position is responsible for monitoring and break/fix of MainStreaming’s managed video infrastructure. The Streaming Support Engineer may work in a shifted environment as needed to support MainStreaming’s customers 24x7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for making sure our acquisition, encoding, delivery infrastructure is always properly working;
  • Providing break/fix and analysis throughout our video workflow;
  • Working to mitigate and resolve any issues related to the streaming service.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Some travel could be required.

SKILLS

  • Able to work in a shifted 24x7 operations environment;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures
  • Provisioning, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance of systems, applications and equipment used in the next-gen video delivery ecosystem;
  • Familiarity with CDN systems;
  • Understanding of various multimedia transport protocols such as: RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP;
  • Experience with alternate content in ABR ecosystem (ESAM, ESNI, etc) Understanding of backbone video and distribution (Peering, Transport, POP sites, etc) Knowledge of monitoring protocols such as SNMP a plus;
  • Monitor and manage cloud based in-house encoding software and ABR monitoring appliances;
  • Drive issues to resolution and provide root cause analysis if needed;
  • Enterprise video encoding operational experience;
  • Video troubleshooting experience preferably in an MVPD environment, understanding of HLS.
